Damn, American League wins again. Three hits to drive in two runs with two outs in the 9th inning. Grrr. Anyway, while watching the game, they had a trivia question during the 4th (?) inning: (something to the effect of) There were 25 first time all-stars in this (the 77th) All-Star Game. What is the most first time all-stars to be voted into the All-Star Game? Their answer: 32 (in two different years, I don't remember which). My answer: 36 in the first All-Star Game held during the Chicago World Fair in 1933. And according to the Baseball Almanac, All-Star teams were originally selected by the managers and the fans,
so my answer clearly fits within the question. That's all, go National League!
