It's always fun to find big name corporations making simple mistakes. A little after noon today, I loaded up my web browser and my Google Personalized Home page came up, without the familiar Google logo:

No Google logo, but at least they are following Section 508 Accessibility Standards and used the "alt" attribute of the image tag. Upon closer inspection, it was a simple case of a repeated extension causing the problem. The image source should have pointed to http://www.google.com/logos/edvard_munch_res.gif when it actually pointed to http://www.google.com/logos/edvard_munch_res.gif.gif. A very simple mistake that I have done countless times.
Anyway, to echo Google's alternative text, "Happy Birthday, Edvard Munch"

As I expected, the typo was fixed very quickly. Noticed the typo around 12:30 p.m., fixed by 1:00 p.m.
